No.11: Magazine!

Making a Magazine is really an interesting assignment. At first, we had chance to practice some Photoshop skills that we learned in class. Mr. Erik showed us some common tools such as Magnetic Lasso Tool or Quick Selection tool so that we can easily cut or add pictures. Moreover, he advised us to use Indesign to make a perfect layout for the magazine. After discussing with my teammate, we decided to focus on the topic about youth. Mr. Erik gave a lot of feedbacks and ideas for my topic. He suggested us the name of the topic should be “Don’t be afraid of being different’’ not “Chasing your dream” as we thought. We assigned the tasks and started doing in order to meet the deadline because we need to not only write a 1500-word article but also take some photos to design. Although this is a 3-student group assignment, my group only has two people but we thought everything would be fine. Quynh Anh interviewed a famous film producer who has made a lot of films on Facebook to have more information for our article. He is successful man who gave up business to pursue his passion for art. Besides, Mai wrote an article to answer two questions which are “Why are people afraid of being different” and “How to be original”. For us, it was difficult to design a magazine because using Photoshop or Indesign is quite complicated. We had to search Internet and watch Youtube to get more tips about Photoshop and Indesign. My team chose red and black, which stand for “Strong” and “Passion” as the theme color and also the Vintage main theme for our work. We finally finished our 8-page-magazine after 7 weeks and we satisfied about what we have learned and have done in this Magazine making assignment.

To be honest, I really into this assignment, from writing the content to the designing one, I was so excited and have the true feeling of passion when doing the thing I love. I guest I can find the thing I want to do in the future.

This is our final magazine, please enjoy!

(There is something wrong with the color when converting from PDF to JPG, but I hope you guys will enjoy it)

Thank you!
